Weaving: Colorful Wrapped & Woven Wall Hangings (Ella Baker)Arts & CraftsUsing simple materials, play with color and pattern to create striking wrapped and woven wall hangings! Designing with color is like creating a musical score. If individual colors are notes on a scale, the arrangement and sequencing of colors create the harmonies and rhythms that spark our senses. In this workshop, we’ll create a series of unique color “scores” using yarn wraps as our medium. We’ll start by making a series of small-scale color sketches using yarn and stiff paper. You’ll be encouraged to work with colors you love as well - and those you tend to avoid. Once our hands, eyes, and minds are warmed up, we’ll dive into weaving wall hangings! This class is adaptable to varying levels of dexterity. All experience and skill levels are welcome.Adult Enrichment Spring 2026 -

Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When participants sign up at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable. Full refunds will be issued if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. In the event of inclement or severe weather, the district will decide whether to cancel, in which case a refund will be given for the time missed. Single week AM and PM classes and multi-week classes have different deadlines and cancellation fees, see below. Single Week AM or PM Class: Cancellation requests before 4 pm the Wednesday before the class start date will receive a refund, minus a $15 transaction fee. No refunds will be granted after that time.
