After School Youth ClassesOur programs serve youth in grades K-12 at Minneapolis Public School locations across the city to ensure all students have access to high quality programs. Community Education Youth Programs deliver a wide range of high-quality enrichment learning opportunities during out of school time (afterschool, release days, and summer). Community Education offerings support youth to develop strong peer relationships and foster new skills, through our intentional program design that fosters cultural identity, youth voice and leadership. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. Driver's Education-TeensState-required classroom instruction that will prepare you for your permit test. 30-hour classes are offered after school during the school year and in the mornings and afternoons during the summer. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)ECFE offers classes, programs and services for families with young children from birth to kindergarten age. Our licensed early childhood educator partners with you to offer meaningful and fun learning opportunities for your child. During classes, parents and children participate together in group time and activities; followed by a parent discussion facilitated by a licensed parent educator, who brings research-based parenting information into the conversation.Category -

Minneapolis Kids (Including Minneapolis Kids Jr)Registration for Before and After School 2026-27 Opens: April 17 at 7:00am (CURRENT FAMILIES) April 24 at 7:00am (NEW FAMILIES) Registration seasons currently open: - Summer 2026 - Minneapolis Kids Jr 2026-27 - Before and After School 2025-26 (Currently offline, call/email for availability) - Non-School Days 2025-26 Any sites not listed below are full with waitlists that are closed. If a site shows that specific days or components (before, after school) are full, you're still welcome to register for those days/components and be invited to the waitlist. If you're no longer interested in being on the waitlist, please cancel your pending contract request(s) via your Arux account. Generally, new contract requests are approved to begin within two weeks. Please register no sooner than two weeks prior to your intended start date. Please allow 10 business days for processing new contract requests (including non-school days). If we have to contact you to make corrections to your contract request(s), please expect up to an additional 10 business days for processing. Minneapolis Kids JrMinneapolis Kids Jr is a full-day, school-year childcare program for four-year-old children that offers a safe, nurturing, educational, and recreational experience specifically designed for children entering kindergarten the following school year. Led by our experienced and caring staff, children will have opportunities to pursue interests and develop friendships, independence, and confidence. Summer Youth CE Programs & CampsClasses for Summer Youth Programs will be visible and open for registration Sunday, February 22 at 5pm. Morning and afternoon options around the city will begin June 22, 2026. Community Education offers a sliding scale model for program fees so our summer programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a camp as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Teen Parent ServicesFor over 30 years, Teen Parent Services (formerly known as the M.I.C.E./TAPP Program) has been addressing the needs of young families in Minneapolis. Let us help connect you to services and explore options for childcare while you complete high school. Childcare funding will remain with your child, even after graduation. Knowing your child is receiving high quality care while you continue your education, or enter the workforce, provides the peace of mind all families deserve. At the discretion of Teen Parent Services, fee-based services may be available to a limited number of district staff at North High School TPS Childcare.
