Weaving: Colorful Wrapped & Woven Wall Hangings (Ella Baker)

Using simple materials, play with color and pattern to create striking wrapped and woven wall hangings!

Designing with color is like creating a musical score. If individual colors are notes on a scale, the arrangement and sequencing of colors create the harmonies and rhythms that spark our senses. In this workshop, we’ll create a series of unique color “scores” using yarn wraps as our medium.

We’ll start by making a series of small-scale color sketches using yarn and stiff paper. You’ll be encouraged to work with colors you love as well - and those you tend to avoid. Once our hands, eyes, and minds are warmed up, we’ll dive into weaving wall hangings!

This class is adaptable to varying levels of dexterity. All experience and skill levels are welcome.
