Early Childhood

We offer multiple programs and services that support the whole child from birth to the transition into kindergarten.

Programming: 

• Early Childhood Screening (3-5 year olds), Free Appointments Offered Year-Round 
• Early Childhood Family Education Fall 2026 Classes, Registration Now Open (Winter/Spring 2027 will open December 14) 
• 2026-27 Minneapolis Kids Jr. Full-Day PreK Child Care, Registration Now Open (2027-28 will open January 29, 2027 @ 7 am) 
• Teen Parent Services, Support for Pregnant & Parenting Teens

School-Age Youth

Our K-12 youth programs deliver a wide range of high-quality enrichment learning opportunities during out-of-school time (before & after school, release days and summer) across the city. 

Programming:

• 2026-27 Minneapolis Kids Before/After School & Non-School Day Care, Registration Now Open (2027-28 will open in April 2027) 
• After School Fall 2026 Enrichment, Registration Now Open at Most Sites (Most Winter 2027 sites will open in December) 
• Aquatics Youth Fall 2026 Classes, Registration Now Open 
• Summer 2027 Programs & Camps, Registration Will Open January 24, 2027 @ 5 pm 
• Donate to Youth After School Enrichment! 

Adults & Family

Delivering high-quality learning and enrichment opportunities so that together, we can improve our lives and our communities.

Programming: 

• Adult & Family Fall 2026 Enrichment Classes, Registration Now Open (Winter 2027 will open December 14 @ 9 am) 
• Access: Adults with Disabilities Fall 2026 Enrichment Classes, Registration Now Open 
• 55+ Lifelong Learning Fall 2026 Enrichment Classes, Registration Now Open 
• Aquatics Adult Fall 2026 Classes, Registration Now Open 
• Adult Basic Education, Free Adult Diploma, GED, ELL & Digital Literacy Classes

Facility Request

MPS encourages the use of the schools by community members. The use of District facilities beyond school hours is a powerful tool for community growth. Our facilities can be rented at an hourly rate PLUS charges to cover staff time, supplies and costs associated with facility use. 

 If you are a first-time requester, you must set up your facilities account. (Read the Facility Use Manual)
