Waitlist"Come From Away" at the Guthrie Theatre (Southwest)Trips & ToursNew Musical book, music and lyrics by IRENE SANKOFF and DAVID HEIN directed by KENT GASH A musical inspired by true events At 9:26 a.m. on September 11, 2001, the Federal Aviation Administration shuts down U.S. airspace in response to terrorist attacks, forcing all inbound planes to find alternate destinations. In total, 38 planes are diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, and the hospitable residents of the small Canadian town greet all 7,000 passengers with food, clothing and open hearts. By the time the “plane people” depart, defenses are down, romance blooms and lifelong friendships are formed. Based on the inspiring true story of Gander’s unexpected guests, this joyful musical honors our common humanity and highlights the importance of reaching out to those in need. Meet Community Ed staff at the reception desk as you enter the lobby to pick up your tickets. The Guthrie Theater is located at 818 2nd St S. Minneapolis, MN 55415 Transportation is on your own. After June15th you can transfer your tickets but no refunds are available. If event is full, please enroll for the waitlist. Forest Bathing: Nature’s Antidote to Stress (Marcy 55+)Trips & ToursIn our fast-paced, digital world, we often lose our connection to the natural environment. Forest Bathing, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, is not a hike or a botanical study, it is a guided sensory experience. Join us to slow down, quiet the mind, and "bathe" your senses in the atmosphere of the forest. Research shows that just two hours of mindful nature connection can lower blood pressure, reduce cortisol levels, and boost your immune system. Please dress for the weather and bring a small sit-pad or camp chair if you prefer not to sit on the ground. Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When participants sign up at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable Refund Policy Refunds (minus a $5 transaction fee) are given if you call or email at least three business days before a class begins. Full refunds will be given for any class that needs to be canceled by the site.Lifelong Learning 55+ Spring 2026
