Grand Rounds Bike Tours: Minnehaha Creek From the Falls to Harriet & Back (55+)

Explore with a Minneapolis Parks Naturalist the deep and important connection this city has with water, both historically and today while touring the Minneapolis Grand Rounds on your bicycle. Planned stops along the way will offer opportunities to learn and discuss the highlighted features and history of individual tours.

Each session will start and end in the same location and will be between 10-14 miles roundtrip. Please bring your own bike, helmet, and water. There is also an option to stay and socialize with the group for lunch after the program (bring your own picnic or dine from one of the near-by establishments).

This 14-mile ride begins at Minnehaha Falls Park and heads out on bike-friendly streets, and continues with an exploration of the Lake Nokomis wetlands.  After circling this lake, the journey continues across the city to Lake Harriet, returning along beautiful Minnehaha Creek trail.

Program will be cancelled when environmental conditions are not suitable for safe biking. This includes severe weather, thunderstorms, or steady rain with wind speeds exceeding 15 mph, or when MPRB thresholds for excessive heat and air quality are surpassed.
