Minneapolis Water Treatment & Distribution Tour (55+)

Where does our drinking water come from? Sift through the process that takes fresh water from the Mississippi river and propels just under 20 billion gallons of drinking water per year to Minneapolis residents. This mighty filtration and disinfection process uses state-of-the art technology and historic infrastructure. All at the City's Public Works Water Treatment & Distribution facility in Northeast Minneapolis located at 4100 Marshall St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55421.

PLEASE NOTE:

     * Carpooling is STRONGLY encouraged. The water plant cannot accommodate individual drivers.

     *  Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of your tour to allow time to pass through security, find parking and get to the meeting room.                

     *   You will need to have government ID to show security gate.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         * Comfortable shoes are highly recommended. There is a lot of walking around campus involved. 

NOTE:  This tour is not wheelchair accessible. There are many stairs and no ramps.
