Futsal (Sanford)SanfordFutsal is similar to soccer but played with a smaller ball and in a gym. Fast-paced, fun, and open to all skill levels, this club is the perfect place to build your footwork, teamwork, and confidence. Whether you're new to the game or already skilled on the court, you'll learn new techniques, play exciting matches, and develop your game. Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) Winter-Spring M/W (Barton) Gr. 3-5BartonPower up your mind! In our Energy, Electricity, and Electronics course, students will be an investigator, diving into the core concepts that light up our world. Students explore the fundamentals of energy, including how it's measured, converted, and transferred. We will also look to the future, examining the importance of conservation and the potential of alternative energy sources through a hands-on, problem-based approach. Students will conduct investigations into key concepts like currents, open and closed circuits, series and parallel circuits, and static electricity. Students also explore the properties of conductors and insulators, and the principles of magnetism as they work on exciting, project-based experiments. A final project includes creating an electricity generated windmill. Instructor: Eric Knutson **This class is in an Extended Learning class after school must have a Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) that will need to be signed by a Parent/Guardian and returned. Your child's after school teacher will send this form home with your child the first week of class. This class begins on February 3rd and ends on May 14th ¡Potencia tu mente!
