Forest Bathing: Fall Equinox (55+)Creative ActivitiesFind balance as the day and night find equal length this equinox and the fall season begins. Forest Bathing is a research-based, immersive practice of slowing down and opening our senses to the natural world around us. With this practice we can develop a deeper relationship with ourselves, the natural world, and other humans. Mel, a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, will guide this experience with thoughtful invitations to help you slow down and explore the world around you, followed by opportunities to share our experiences with one another. Minneapolis Southside Singers (55+)Creative ActivitiesIf you are over 55 and like to sing, you are invited to join this chorus. Their repertoire includes music from the 1930s and 1940s, patriotic music, show tunes, spirituals, dance numbers and vaudeville-style skits. New members are always welcome. Nature Connections: Conifer Trees & Wreaths (55+)Creative ActivitiesGo on a hike in Theodore Wirth Park and learn tips and tricks for identifying different types of conifer trees. Salsa (55+)Creative ActivitiesIt doesn’t always take two to tango as Partner Dance is taught without a partner. During the sessions, participants learn lead/follow skills and etiquette that will last a lifetime! Dancers learn pattern and sequencing recognition, body, ensemble and music awareness, as well as basic terminology. Come tear it up on the dancefloor with us! Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay.
