Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our summer programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Discuss the joy, benefits and the challenges of keeping chickens in an urban setting. Topics will include but not be limited to: Breeds, Nutrition/Feeds, Housing, Getting Started, Welfare Issues and Bio-Security. Participants will receive a certificate that is accepted by Mpls Animal Control; a prerequisite for issuing a permit to keep chickens. This class will be held on Zoom. Use recycled & thrifted materials as you learn how to assembly jewelry to make earrings, a bracelet, or a necklace. All materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring their own old jewelry to take apart and make new again! If class is full, please enroll for the waitlist. Learn basic jewelry making techniques to design and create suncatchers with recycled chains and beads from old jewelry. Learn how to assemble pieces together to make a beautiful chain with a rainbow casting prism at the bottom. All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own beads or old jewelry to use.
