Fee includes up to 25lbs of stoneware clay, glazes, tools and firing. In order to get the most of this class and finish your work, please only sign up if you can commit to the full schedule. There are not make up dates available. This intermediate to advanced pottery class is designed for students who are confident on the wheel and ready to refine their skills. Participants will focus on more advanced throwing techniques, form development, and intentional surface design. Through demonstrations and guided practice, students will explore a variety of decorative approaches—including texture, carving, underglaze painting, and glaze techniques—to elevate both the function and visual impact of their work. Pottery: Hand Building Techniques (Southwest)Arts & CraftsLearn the basics of pinch, slab and coil building methods. Demonstrations of each hand building method will be shown, and simple projects to get you started will be provided. Most of class will be dedicated to you building your own creations using the demonstrated methods with support from the instructor. Plan to let your imagination run wild! You will get to work with 25 lbs pounds of clay over six weeks. All other tools provided. You are also welcome to bring your own tools, as well as materials for sketching your ideas. The final class in the session is glazing day. We are unable to accommodate for a make up days, if you miss it your projects will remain unglazed. Pick up of finished projects is variable, usually a few weeks after class ends. If class is full, please enroll for the waitlist.
