Barton Snacks, Laughs, Art & Movement Aftercare is for students attending MPS Summmer scholars at Bancroft, Green or Folwell. Wind down after camp with creative activities, games, and movement. This program blends fun, relaxation, and connection. There is no transportation provided from SLAM, Students must be picked up at 4:00 pm. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ONLY A CERTAIN NUMBER OF SPACES WILL BE AVAILABLE AT EACH SLAM LOCATION. The application opens February 22nd at 5 pm. You will want to apply right away. Once you are confirmed as accepted into a SLAM aftercare location, please email summerscholars@mpls.k12.mn.us to let us know. Dive into the colorful world of jewelry-making! Using a variety of beads, charms, and threads, you will design and create your own unique bracelets then wear your creations with pride! Grades are the year your student will be entering in the fall. A lunch is available to all students. Please select this option when you register. Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our summer programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Biking gets you out exploring while gaining a better understanding of our wonderful city. Beyond seeing the sights, you will learn more about bike maintenance and safety. Come with an adventurous spirit as you get around town under your own pedal power! Set out each day on bike to paved trails like the Parkway, Greenway, and street bike lanes.
