(Apologies to Cole Porter, composer of “What is This Thing Called Love?”) This introduction through the lens (or lips) of three trumpet players that shaped jazz as we know it, from the hot sounds of Louis Armstrong, to the harmonic sophistication of Dizzy Gillespie, to the cool stylings of Miles Davis will help you appreciate and enjoy this musical genre.
