Swim Team - (Franklin) - Age Group 1 (Ages 8-14)Aquatics YouthAge Group 1 - (Ages 8-14yrs 11 mo) - 60 minute session up to four times weekly) Focus on stroke, start; turn efficiency; and speed while learning to think about race strategy. Participants must be able to swim 200 yards of Front Craw (with side breathing) without stopping Perform all four competition strokes * Front Crawl & Backstroke consistently with solid technique (good head & body position, correct stroke and kick) * Breaststroke and Butterfly - Swim 50 yards (1 lap) consistently with at least one of either the arms or legs "competition legal" **If a participant needs to build endurance, they may be asked to attend the Novice group temporarily.** NOTE: These practice sessions are in partnership with Minneapolis Lake Monsters swim team. All registrations will be placed on a waitlist. New participants will be notified if they are able to be added to the roster. All participants will be required to register annually with USA Swimming and Minnesota Swimming Inc. Swim Team - (Franklin) - Novice Group (Ages 7-12)Aquatics YouthNovice swimmers - (Ages 7-12yrs 11mo) 50 minutes up to twice weekly - Focus on improving endurance and stroke mechanics while learning starts and turns. Participants must have either completed Red Cross Swim Level 4 OR Foss Level 5; OR be able to swim the following: * 50 yards - Front Crawl * 50 yards of backstroke * Understand how to swim Breaststroke and Butterfly (ok if coordination is not put together yet) NOTE: These practice sessions are in partnership with Minneapolis Lake Monsters swim team. All registrations will be placed on a waitlist. New participants will be notified if they are able to be added to the roster. Participants must be able to swim all four strokes (Front Crawl, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) in competition without being disqualified and complete more challenging conditioning practice sets. High school age swimmers who wish to continue swimming year-round beyond their high school season focus on improving technique and conditioning; developing practices that will transition them into lifelong swimmers. Participants must be able to consistently swim all four strokes (Front Crawl, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) in competition without being disqualified, and complete more challenging conditioning practice sets. Swim Team: REQUEST TO JOINAquatics YouthPlease register here if you are interested in joining the youth swim team. Youth Swim Team practice sessions are offered in partnership with the Minneapolis Lake Monsters swim team across four age and ability groups: Novice, Age Group 1, Age Group 2, and Senior. Participants are NOT REQUIRED to compete in swim meets, although it is certainly encouraged. IMPORTANT: New participant requests to join will be notified once they are able to be added to the roster. All swimmers will be required to register annually with USA Swimming and Minnesota Swimming Inc. regardless of level or participation in swim meets.
