WaitlistBike Tour: City of Lakes w/ Mark Raderstorf (Southwest)Trips, Tours & Special EventsWant to take a closer look at the marvelous sites along the MInneapolis Lakes? Join Mark Raderstorf, Chief Fun Officer for You Betcha Tours, on a bike tour around the Minneapolis Lakes and the award winning Minneapolis Park System. You will learn about the history of the Minneapolis Parks, how it took root long before homes were built, and the people behind the vision and development of the parks. This tour will feature stops at Lake Harriet Bandshell, the Rose Garden, the site of the Dakota village of Eatonville along Bde Maka Ska, mansions around the Lake of the Isles, the Mary Tyler Moore House, and more. Tour distance will be 10 miles. You must provide your own bike and bike helmet. Tour is limited to 20 people, so sign up before it sells out! Dress for the weather and bring water. In this morning camp, riders will bike together along safe, supervised routes to local ice cream spots while building confidence, endurance, and road-ready biking skills. Campers will learn basic bike safety, group riding etiquette, and navigation skills, all while enjoying fresh air, friends, and a well-earned sweet treat at the finish. It’s the perfect mix of exercise, independence, and summer fun. Ice cream tastes better when you’ve pedaled for it! Grades are the year your student will be entering in the fall. Bike to Museums & Landmarks (Gr. 6-9)Sanford Super Summer CampsMiddle School biking gets you out exploring the urban environment on bike while gaining a better understanding of our wonderful resources of your city. You'll bike to different museums, cultural institutions, and photo-worthy landmarks each day and see so many cool things our city has to offer. Students must be able to bike 10 miles. In the event of severe weather we will bus to landmarks and or museums via Metro Transit. Use the design process to come up with unique rules and fun challenges, and bring your game to life with a variety of artistic mediums. Then test out your new game with friends and see who will win!
