Ukulele Cruise: Summer Jam & Sing-Along on the Mississippi River w/ Dean Johnson (Southwest)Music & PerformanceCome cruise the scenic Mississippi River! Option to join in a jam session, sing or strum along with your old favorite songs lead by ukulele player Dean Johnson. Some ukes will be provided, or bring your own uke, guitar, banjo, madolin, etc. This should be fun! Understanding Your Utility Bill: Savings and Billing with CenterPoint Energy (Marcy)Wellness TalksJoin Hannah Gullickson from CenterPoint Energy for an informative session designed to help you take control of your energy costs. In this class, you will learn how to accurately read and interpret your monthly bill, ensuring you understand exactly what you are paying for. Hannah will also share practical tips and strategies for reducing your energy consumption, helping you find ways to save money while maintaining comfort in your home. Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. Urban Explorers: Bike & Bus (Entering Gr. 6-9)Kenwood Super Summer CampsWe will utilize the Minneapolis Metro Transit system and our bikes to travel all over the city. We will visit parks, neighborhoods, museums, and other landmarks that make our city special. This club is perfect for the environmentalist who loves to explore new places! Participants should bring their own bike and helmet and be able to bike up to 8-12 miles a day (with breaks). Watch a vintage turntable get back into action and find out if that old stereo you or your parents had back in college is okay to use with just a new needle or if it needs an overhaul.
