Maureen Trepp, long time resident and Mpls. historian, will share the history of the land, culture, and people who have lived in and enjoyed this unique and much visited public park. Group will meet at the bridge over the top of Minnehaha Falls at 6:00 for a 1 ½ hour tour. There are 2 Blue light rail line stops near the park and parking in a pay lot on the north end of the park. We will explore the riverfront on foot, imagining the creatures that might live beneath the water while discovering the real wonders of this powerful ecosystem. Campers will walk to the Mississippi River, hike along nearby trails, and take part in nature-based activities. We’ll create river-inspired art using natural materials, play active outdoor games, and learn about the plants, animals, and history of the river through hands-on exploration and imaginative play. Mississippi River Private Cruise on the Magnolia Blossom w/ Historian Dave Bredemus (Southwest)Trips, Tours & Special EventsCruise the Mighty Mississippi River from St. Paul toward Minneapolis and back past downtown St. Paul to Inver Grove Heights aboard the 80-foot Magnolia Blossom paddleboat. Both inside and outside seating is available. Spend the evening relaxing and listening to stories about the local Mississippi River’s history, geology and natural wonders. Travel up the Mississippi past Fort Snelling, Mendota,Hidden Falls and Minnehaha Park. Travel down river to see and hear tails of Pike Island, Crosby Nature Center and historic bridges. Travel past downtown Saint Paul to Dakota County and Inver Grove Heights. The trip will be narrated by boat captain Dan and historian Dave Bredemus and will feature river history, shoreline points of interest, natural history and wildlife identification. Beverages will be available to purchase on board the boat. Get the chance to improve in your favorite mediums while having the artistic freedom to learn something new. Moon River Cruise on the Mississippi Starring Raymond Berg & Friends (Southwest)Trips, Tours & Special EventsCome experience the romance of the Mississippi on a singular cruise featuring a fabulous combo that brings all of the classic love songs in the Great American songbook to life. As you drift along the river you can relax and enjoy the music and watch the moon from the deck. There may even be an opportunity to perform a number yourself! Plus, you'll learn about the history and lore of some the nations most cherished songs sung by some of the most legendary crooners. Meet at the Watergate Marina, 2500 Crosby Farm Road, Saint Paul Minnesota, 55116. Crosby Farm Road is at the intersection of Shepherd Road and Gannon Road. Transportation to the Watergate Marina is on your own. Beverages will be available to purchase on board the boat. You may bring your own food. Note: There is a ramp down to boat.
