Day Camp Adventures at Camp Fire MinnesotaSummer Youth CE Programs & CampsCamp Fire Minnesota's Day Camp is your outdoor adventure destination! Each day is full of exploration and fun in a well-structured schedule. Our program encourages campers to learn new skills, build confidence, create new friendships, and explore the natural world. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, nature exploration, swimming, field games, science experiments, and more! Groups are kept small and are led by trained counselors who are dedicated to helping campers discover and ignite their sparks. Lunch is provided. Families should be able to commit to attending all five days of Camp. Community transportation will be provided from Lucy Laney Elementary with drop off between 8:00 – 8:30 AM and caregiver pick up at 5:00 PM. The bus will pick up and drop off students at the main entrance. Driver's Education Classroom Training (Summer)Driver's Education-TeensDriver’s Education Classroom Instruction Receive State-required classroom instruction to prepare you for your permit test. Students must attend all 30 hours of instruction, no make-up dates available. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a digital certification of completion (yellow card). Classes offered by Minneapolis Community Education are open to students ages 14 and older. Contact 612-668-1306 if you have questions about payment options. Once your classroom portion with Community Education is over, you must arrange, schedule, and pay for Behind-the-Wheel Training separately with your choice of provider. Expect to pay $350+. To register, parents/guardians need to create an account/profile and then add the student's information. If the class is full, add your student to the waitlist. You must join the waitlist with a valid method of payment: either card or bank account information. Payment will not be collected until the student is placed into the class. If you don’t see a class listed for your child’s school, check with your school’s Community Education staff. Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When participants sign up at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable. Come along as we embark on quests and defeat monsters while traveling through frightening forests and the corners of cold castles. Electric Foiling on a Wake Board (Southwest)Trips, Tours & Special EventsJoin us for our Intro to E Foiling - Electric Foiling on a Wake Board! After a short intro, you will go out on Lake Nokomis and test your new skills. Electric Foiling on a Wake Board is an introduction into the fun of eFoil riding! eFoils are wake boards with a mast and foil located on the very bottom. An electric motor for propulsion is located behind the foil. Riders will learn the technical terms for different parts of the eFoil, syncing the control to the board, and starting the motor with the hand control to mount the board. Riders will also learn to accelerate to plane-ing , and further to foil along with carve-ing. This class will meet you wherever you are physically. The boards are designed for riders under 260 pounds, but everyone is welcome to try. There is no correct way to ride—even riding on your front laying down like Superman (or super person) is one of the best experiences- about as close to flying without a valid pilot’s license. The only way to fail this class is to not arrive. EFoil Learning Fun! (ELF) EFoil Learning Fun. Everly Farms Apple Picking & Smoked Meat DinnerTrips, Tours & Special EventsCelebrate the start of apple season with an evening built around the orchard. Guests will begin with a guided walk around the Everly Farms property before heading into the orchard for apple picking; each person will take home a half peck of apples. Apple type is subject to seasonal availability. After the orchard experience, guests will gather for a family-style smoked meat dinner featuring BBQ platters served family-style, followed by Chef Tom’s apple pie for dessert. It’s a cozy, harvest-driven night that brings together the best parts of fall at Everly Farms: the orchard, the food, and the simple joy of gathering around the table. Everly Farms Fall Harvest Pasta DinnerTrips, Tours & Special EventsCelebrate the shift into fall with an evening inspired by the gardens, orchards, and vineyard of Everly Farms. Guests will begin with a guided walking tour of the property led by Head Gardener Sam Chenier, exploring the orchard, vineyard, and estate garden while learning more about what is currently growing and how those seasonal ingredients are being used by the team at The Table. Along the way, guests will have the chance to help harvest select ingredients from the garden before heading inside for a three-course, pasta-focused dinner. The evening will feature a fresh garden salad, a variety of seasonal pastas highlighting the flavors of the fall harvest, and a playful dessert to finish.
