Hearing can become more difficult as we age. Join nurses from the University of Minnesota in a discussion about what changes in hearing are normal and equipment that can help you hear better. This program is cosponsored by Minneapolis Community Education and the University of Minnesota School of Nursing.

Tuesdays & Thursdays (October 20th - January 14th) High Five students will enjoy a lively mix of cooperative games, creative crafts, active movement, and unstructured play. Designed to help students unwind, socialized with peers, and make new friends after school. Students should be school ready, able to follow routines, and potty trained (no accidents) to be ready for this class. Register by Wednesday, September 23rd, to guarantee bus transportation on the first day of class. Registrations completed after September 23rd will have busing on rolling basis. Explore the past and bring history to life! Research a topic of your choice, develop a project, and prepare to compete in Minnesota History Day. With guidance at every step, students will build strong research, writing, and presentation skills while creating a project they’re proud of. Ms. Pilon and Ms. Monroe will lead this group. This is an MPS ALC Extended Learning Class and is paid for by state and federal dollars.

Students seeking more opportunities to sing in an ensemble can do so while getting an introduction to more challenging choral pieces! Students will learn about the history of the music, and have the opportunity to build on their skills beyond the regular school day! This course is open to beginning and returning choir students alike, with an aptitude for singing and a desire to learn! This course ends on Tuesday, November 17th in preparation for the start of Musical auditions on Monday, November 30th.
