This is a gradual separation class (child and caregiver spend time together and practice spending time apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Support your toddler’s need to show greater independence and self-confidence along with their development, thinking skills, and language skills through singing, playing, reading, and caregiving discussions. Caregiver discussion will focus on topics relevant to life with your toddlers, twos, and threes. Caregiver discussion includes topics on development, toilet learning, separation, bedtime, nutrition, and routines. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with caregivers during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option. NOTE: These young infants will remain with the caregivers during discussion time. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. A bite-sized version of our Heart of Mpls tour, the sunset tour begins and ends at the Boom Island marina, a railroad tie factory-turned green space just northeast of downtown. After a short paddle skill introduction on land, your guide will lead you on a loop of the downtown riverfront. Enjoy one of the most distinctive skyline views from anywhere in town, a visit to a hidden lagoon, and relax above the falls that carved out our city. Our guides each have their own style and stories to tell, but all will share in pulling back the veil of time and pointing out various histories written, washed away, and sometimes still visible on the banks of the Mississippi. As with all PBGC tours, the route and duration is subject to flexibility depending on weather conditions, water level & flow-rate, and group dynamics. Distance will be reflected accordingly, but averages 3-4 miles on this stretch. **What to bring:** - Dress for water! Wear lightweight clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting wet - hot tip, have a dry layer in your car to change into after just in case. - Hats and sunglasses for the glare off the water - Sunscreen/Water bottle - guides should have extra, but we encourage use of a reusable water bottle to lessen reliance on single-use plastics. - Snacks for your guide - just kidding, but never a bad idea for yourself. Join us for an inspiring and transformative tour of Minnesota’s first and only Justice Impacted Community Gardens. This unique space serves as a powerful symbol of restorative justice, healing, and community resilience. The gardens feature raised beds that are intentionally designed to resemble prison mattresses and (as a (reflective) centerpiece) a solitary confinement space, all serving as a visual protest the warehousing of incarcerated individuals, and repurposing space to grow food not house people. These beds are more than symbols, they are stories brought to life, representing justice-impacted individuals whose stories about food being used as punishment are shared and honored.Just Us Garden is also a space for healing circles and reflection, fostering dialogue around justice, punishment, and the potential for growth. Despite Minnesota Statute 241.241 allowingincarcerated Justice Impacted Individuals to tend gardens (per MN STATUTE MN: a garden program in all MN facilities), many are unable to do so. To honor their stories and agency, eachbed is named after an incarcerated person who cannot currently garden, but who is empowered to grow food outside through this symbolic gesture.
