Dust off your sturdy knowledge of être, avoir, and regular -er verbs, vocabulary and pronunciation. This class continues from level 1 and introduces regular and irregular -ir verbs, faire, vouloir and related vocabulary. Learn additional useful verbs and vocabulary while practicing spoken French! This class is for continuing level 1 studies. It is not for intermediate students. Pre-requisite: French 1. Vive la joie de vivre!

Builds upon foundational French knowledge by further developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through more complex grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding. Prerequisite: Level 1 French.

Continue to build confidence in your French language skills by reading, writing, speaking, and listening in French. Use new grammar and vocabulary to discuss a variety of topics and improve your understanding of the culture. Prerequisite: French 2 or prior experience.

This immersive French conversation class is designed for intermediate to advanced learners who want to enhance their speaking abilities in real-world contexts. Through engaging discussion, role-plays, and various interactive activities, students will develop their fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary while gaining confidence in their conversational skills.

Expand your knowledge of the German language as you acquire vocabulary and insights into culture and grammar. Prerequisite: German 1 or prior experience. Over four weeks, participants will read, privately and aloud during class, a variety of German prose – maybe some poetry – by several authors. The course begins with two short pieces by Swiss author Peter Bichsel. Students will then decide on authors and their works from a list developed by the instructor and augmented by student requests. Discussion, in German with limited digressions in English, will focus on content, vocabulary, and cultural information. This class is priced on a sliding fee scale. Please pay the price you are able. Explore simple sentences, conjugating verbs and counting and discussing Japanese culture. Prerequisite: Japanese 1 or prior experience. Key to Language Class Levels

This course will be able to help you express yourself in common circumstances you may find as you explore Japan as a foreigner. Common expressions will be taught so that students can apply this easily and immediately. We will role play frequently as participation is key to internalizing the lessons. Having the confidence to participate in brief conversational Japanese with natives will be the primary goal, and focused lessons on the grammar behind the phrases taught will help frame what is being said. This in turn will create a basis of understanding upon which each student is empowered to take their language learning to the next level. While also learning common cultural practices and nuances that you may want to pick up along the way. Classes may meet outside of the classroom.

This course introduces the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the Ojibwe language. Topics include history of the Ojibwe migration, cultural introductions, feelings, weather and basic verb conjugations. Students will be able to hold basic conversation in Ojibwe and will be more familiar with cultural practices of the Ojibwe people.
