Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When participants sign up at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable Refund Policy Refunds (minus a $5 transaction fee) are given if you call or email at least three business days before a class begins. Full refunds will be given for any class that needs to be canceled by the site.

    Canasta is a strategic card game of the Rummy family of games. It is most commonly played by four in two partnerships with two standard decks of cards.     Would you like to be able to play a social game of Chess with friends and family, but you just never learned how? This is the class for you! Come learn the rules and strategies of the game with other beginners. This class will be appropriate for anyone unrated to 1500 ELO and will include 5 weeks of instruction/chess play and 2 weeks of open chess play (with the instructor present to answer questions.)

    Northeast Chess is a space for adults looking to practice, learn and improve their chess game with their community. Online chess is a great way to practice, but OTB chess is the way the game is meant to be played! We will have boards and clocks, but you are more than welcome to bring your own! This class is on a sliding fee scale. Fee is not required but support for the program is appreciated.

    Teach your dog useful behaviors for living in your home while learning to use proven dog- and family-friendly positive reinforcement-based methods. Teach your dog sit, down, loose leash walk, come, sit for greeting, drop it, and leave it. Instructor will need to see your dog’s current vaccination records, including Rabies, Bordetella and DHLP vaccination certificates on the first night of class.
