Open Gym Unified

Join students of all abilities for a fun, inclusive Open Gym experience! Each week, we’ll play soccer, basketball, volleyball, and a variety of other gym games together. This club focuses on teamwork, friendship, and active fun. Everyone is welcome, and everyone plays!

A Special Olympics Minnesota (SOMN) Unified after-school club is an inclusive student organization that brings together youth with and without intellectual disabilities to collaborate, socialize, and lead. Operating under SOMN’s Unified Champion Schools initiative, these clubs focus on building meaningful friendships, co-organizing inclusive sports or recreational activities, and running school-wide campaigns that promote acceptance and respect. By giving every student an equal voice in leadership and social events, the club works to eliminate stigma and foster a culture where everyone feels valued and included.

This is an ALC Extended Learning class and is paid for with state and federal funding.
