Silkscreen Printing (Summer)

Hi, I am Donte.

I started my company, THROWiNG PAiNT, 10 years ago. Printmaking is my passion. I have paint on everything I own! I am fascinated with the hands-on process of silkscreen printing and graphic design. I think printmaking is therapeutic in how the process produces a rewarding finished product, and I also love how it harmoniously blends the worlds of machines and humans. Printmaking is a creative outlet for people who have an idea and are searching for a way to express it.

I had the opportunity to explore professional printing and be exposed to amazing facilities during my arts education, starting in elementary school and extending into college, where I pursued my degree in Art. I believe introducing students to how expansively printmaking is incorporated and used in our daily lives is important. It’s exciting to see the process behind it all and learn how to replicate it so someone can create their own work. I love to collaborate with other printmakers to blend styles, balance techniques, and even make mistakes….which is part of the learning process. I am excited to teach people printmaking to build the community of creative thinkers and doers.
