Simple Actions for Our Climate Crisis (Edison)

This class will help you understand climate change and will outline actions we can take to help reduce climate chaos impact in our urban and rural habitats.

This class is scheduled to take place in person. If we are unable to hold classes in person or are limited in what locations we can use, this class will be moved to an online platform at the same date and time. In that event, a Community Education staff will share information about attending through an online platform.

Face coverings are required for all staff and participants at all Minneapolis Public School buildings, regardless of an individual’s vaccination status. All participants should do a COVID-19 Daily Home Health Screening before attending a program. Participants with any sign of illness are to stay home. COVID-19 precautions may change.

Instructor Climate Change

My name is Craig Heinen, and I grew up in Bloomington, MN. My first introduction to weather/climate was when Dave Dahl came to visit my first grade class some 25 years ago. Since then my profession has taken me away from science, but having a thirst for knowledge has always kept me connected to its ever-changing applications. My favorite season is winter; I love the bite of the cold stepping out onto a frozen rink, the hush that falls over my neighborhood during a sizeable snowfall, and the way the full moon reflects off the snow!
