Activities include lifelong sport, recreation and fitness: most all individual and team sports, rope jumping, racket games, track and field, kickball, tag games, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, bowling, volleyball, lord of the rings, pin guard, mini mighty stations, Danish baseball and many others. Join Ms. Elena for fun kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade gym games, physical activity, and yoga afterschool! Get ready to stretch, move, and giggle! In Yoga & Play, your child will explore playful yoga poses and fun activities designed to boost flexibility, focus, and relaxation. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a busy school day, combining physical fitness with mindful fun. A happy, healthy experience for every Hale Bear! Recess and gym games are a great stimulus to develop your child’s motor ability, and yoga increases body awareness and mindfulness. To give students time to move around and unwind afterschool, the first two thirds of the class we will play games like catching stars, spaceship tag, and musical hula hoops. The last third of the class students will be invited to re-center and calm their minds with yoga. Chess is back with our All Star Community Ed Chess coach Dave Wencel! Start your child’s love of strategy early with Chess & Games! This afterschool class introduces young minds to the world of chess, along with other classic games that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It’s a fun and engaging way to develop patience, strategy, and sportsmanship—let the games begin! Join us for weekly challenges and games as we make friends while we learn the basics of chess. We will hone our skills in Chess, Checkers, and other tabletop board games. There are seasonal district-wide chess tournaments that your student will have the opportunity to participate in.
