    Circle of Security (18-36 months) Gradual Separation

    This is a gradual separation class (child and caregiver spend time together and practice spending time apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. This course is designed to help caregivers strengthen their relationship with their children by understanding and responding to their emotional needs. Based on decades of attachment research, The Circle of Security Parenting™ (COSP) offers a visual framework and practical tools to support secure caregiver-child relationships. This class includes videos, reflection, skill building and discussion, led by a registered COSP facilitator. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with caregivers during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option. NOTE: These young infants will remain with the caregivers during discussion time. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Please choose the fee that best fits your family budget. A 10% surcharge will be applied to fees for Non-Minneapolis residents.

    Music and Movement (24-48m) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and caregiver spend time together and apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Sing, dance, and move to the rhythm! This lively class invites children and their caregivers to explore music through songs, instruments, rhythm games, and creative movement. From shaking scarves to stomping feet, kids build coordination, listening skills, and joyful connections. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with caregivers during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option.   • Nature and Curiosity (18-36m) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and caregiver spend time together and apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Step outside and spark your child's sense of wonder! In this hands-on class, little explorers dig into nature through muddy adventures, puddle jumping, bug spotting, and more. Whether we're making mud pies or collecting leaves, every moment is a chance to learn, grow, and connect with the world around us. Dress for the mess, rain or shine, we're heading outside!   • Ones (11-24 months) Non-Separating

    This is a non-separating class (child and caregiver together for entire class). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins.A lottery for 2nd Quarter classes will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026. You will be notified then if you are enrolled in the class. Quarter 2 classes begin the week of Nov. 16, 2026. Children and caregivers enjoy time together singing, playing and learning. During caregiver discussion time, the early childhood staff engage the children in planned activities while caregivers gather nearby, in the same room. Caregiver topics include child development, guiding behavior, sleep and nutrition in addition to caregiver joys and concerns. These classes are for you if you and your child are not ready to separate or simply prefer to stay together. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Please choose the fee that best fits your family budget. A 10% surcharge will be added to fees for Non-Minneapolis residents.
  • Toddlers and Twos (18-36 months) Gradual Separation

    This is a gradual separation class (child and caregiver spend time together and practice spending time apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Support your toddler’s need to show greater independence and self-confidence along with their development, thinking skills, and language skills through singing, playing, reading, and caregiving discussions. Caregiver discussion will focus on topics relevant to life with your toddlers, twos, and threes. Caregiver discussion includes topics on development, toilet learning, separation, bedtime, nutrition, and routines. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with caregivers during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option. NOTE: These young infants will remain with the caregivers during discussion time. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income.     This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Support your 2-3-year-old’s need to show greater independence and self-confidence along with their development, thinking skills, and language skills through singing, playing, reading, and caregiving discussions. Caregiver discussion will focus on topics relevant to life with your 2-3-year old. Caregiver discussion includes topics on development, toilet learning, separation, bedtime, nutrition, and routines. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option.
