Students will craft, design, and explore their creative side in a fun group setting. Thursdays: Build friendships and leadership skills with YMCA mentors! Students will engage in games, activities, and discussions that promote confidence and community with U of MN Students. -
2nd-3rd Grade- Sphero Coding (Loring)
Learn to code and bring robots to life! Students will program their own Sphero robots to move, spin, and complete exciting challenges. Perfect for tech-loving problem solvers. -
3rd- 5th Grade: Racing Readers (Loring)
Love reading, crafting, and cooking? Join Racing Readers for a mix of reader’s theater, current events, creative projects, and tasty treats. A class that combines learning and fun in every session! -
3rd-5th Grade: Disney Musicals in Schools Present: Aladdin! (Loring)
Step into the spotlight and bring Aladdin to life! Students will sing, dance, and act while learning teamwork and stagecraft. A magical experience for performers of all levels. -
3rd-5th Grade: Sports U (Loring Leaders Basketball Team)
Get active and build your skills on the court! Students will learn teamwork, practice drills, and play games in a fun, supportive environment. Students on the Loring Leopards basketball team will compete against other MPS schools including Lucy Laney, Cityview, Nelli Stone Johnson & more! *For students who opt out of the basketball team, Sports U will provide an alternative option that includes participation in a variety of sports samplers. -

Important Community Education Update — Please Read Beginning with the Winter and Spring sessions, Community Education classes will include a sliding-scale fee, with options starting as low as $0. These contributions are vital to sustaining our after-school programs at Loring. We kindly and strongly encourage families to give what they can—every dollar directly supports our students, our staff, and the continuation of these meaningful programs. Your contribution truly makes a difference. For families with students currently enrolled, a donation link will go live with online registration on Friday, December 19th. Your generosity helps ensure that Loring Leaders and other after-school opportunities remain available for all students. Please give what you can to help keep our after-school program at Loring thriving. When families who are able contribute, it allows us to continue offering high-quality, inclusive programming for our entire school community. Important to Know: No child will ever be excluded due to inability to pay. If your child selects a class with a fee and you would like them to participate, simply pay what you can using the sliding scale or contact me directly.
