Early Childhood Family ExpoYouth & FamilyThe MPS Early Childhood Family Expo brings together partners from Minneapolis Public Schools Early Childhood and Preschool programs to celebrate and support Minneapolis families with children ages 0-8. This free event is designed as a welcoming space to discover programs, ask questions, and build connections with the educators and services that support their child’s growth from birth to third grade. Families can also enjoy live entertainment, explore ECFE classes, connect with Early Childhood Screening, and meet a variety of community partners offering resources for young children. We will start at Anwatin Middle School and will visit Shoreview Commons Park, Elm Creek Park, and French Park. Pack your own picnic lunch to eat along the way. Sensei June has been training and teaching karate in the Beikoku Wado-ryu style for over a decade, with additional experience in Shotokan, Ueshiro Shorin-ryu, Shorinji-ryu, Shotokan, Taekwondo, and wrestling. Her classes focus both on traditional kata/bunkai as well as more modern self-defense applications. June is passionate about making martial arts accessible and fun for all students, and has a broad experience tailoring her classes to different bodies, comfort levels, and backgrounds.
