German 2 (Roosevelt)LanguagesPractice and expand your knowledge and skills in German language and culture. This theme-based course focuses on vocabulary and conversation with grammar as needed/requested. Whether planning to use German for travel, work, genealogy, or other pleasures, every participant should find a welcome here. German 1.5 or previous experience at that level is recommended. German: Deutsch fuer Lesende (Roosevelt)LanguagesOver four weeks, participants will read, privately and aloud during class, a variety of German prose – maybe some poetry – by several authors. The course begins with two short pieces by Swiss author Peter Bichsel. Students will then decide on authors and their works from a list developed by the instructor and augmented by student requests. Discussion, in German with limited digressions in English, will focus on content, vocabulary, and cultural information. This class is priced on a sliding fee scale. Please pay the price you are able.
