Christianity Basics & Other Religions (Marcy)Adventures in LearningJoin Pastor Ingrid and Pastor Jim for an engaging exploration of faith and belief systems. This course focuses on learning fundamental Christian theology while comparing it with other world faiths in a judgment-free environment. Participants will have ample opportunities for questions and open discussion throughout the session. Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Participants are asked to pick the price that they can pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When participants sign up at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable Refund Policy Refunds (minus a $5 transaction fee) are given if you call or email at least three business days before a class begins. This course is designed to help caregivers strengthen their relationship with their children by understanding and responding to their emotional needs. Based on decades of attachment research, The Circle of Security Parenting™ (COSP) offers a visual framework and practical tools to support secure parent-child relationships. This class includes videos, reflection, skill building and discussion, led by a registered COSP facilitator. Classes in Spanish¿Hablas español? ¡Ofrecemos clases en Español! Educación Familiar para la Niñez Temprana (Early Childhood Family Education) ofrece clases, programas y servicios para familias con niños pequeños, desde el nacimiento hasta la edad de kindergarten. Nos asociamos con ustedes para ofrecer oportunidades de aprendizaje significativo y divertido para sus hijos. En nuestras clases, los padres y los hijos participan juntos en un tiempo de grupo y actividades, seguido por una conversación con los padres facilitada por un educador de padres licenciado, quien trae información proveniente de investigaciones sobre la crianza de niños. Estas clases en español son ofrecidas en cuatro establecimientos en la ciudad, dos horas una vez por semana, y durante un semestre. Los pagos se basan en los ingresos y no rechazamos a nadie por no poder pagar. (La tarifa variable se encuentra en la página 17.) Contamos con transporte limitado si fuera necesario. You will learn the basic downstroke “bum-ditty” pattern and how to enhance the music with hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides. You will learn simple old time tunes as well as practice licks. Julie will show you the basic chord structures, ways to practice switching chords and various resources for continued learning. Taught in a fun and accessible manner this course is designed for people with little or no banjo experience. Please bring a banjo (preferably open-back), a tuner and capo. Students can also bring a recording device or use their phone to record the lesson. Your instructor, Julie Jao, has been playing Clawhammer Banjo for over 25 years. Clay Creations (Entering Gr. 6-9)Kenwood Super Summer CampsRelease your inner artist as you use new techniques and tools to make creations such as jewlery dishes, clay charms, sculpted creatures! Using carving and painting to add extra decoration to your pieces before taking them home at the end of week. Register your child for a morning class and an afternoon class and we will provide lunch and supervision free of charge from 12-1 pm. When signing up for the morning class, you will be able to choose the option “Stay for free lunch and recess from 12:00 – 1:00 pm” as you complete your registration. To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education offers fees on a sliding scale.
