Finding Nemo Musical Stage & Costume Crew ALC/CE (Grades 2-5)
New this fall! Our Musical Stage & Costume Crew will support the production of our Musical this year! Students will help tell the story of our Finding Nemo Musical, and discover the creative world of our musical from backstage! Students will be designing scenery & props, managing the technical & behind the scenes aspects of the show, while learning how stage crews bring a show to life! Through teamwork and creativity, students will have the chance to express themselves, build confidence, and contribute their own ideas to our musical production. No acting experience needed!
This class will meet twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 20th-March 18th. Stage and costume crew members are expected to be present at the 3 performances on March 16 & 18. This opportunity requires students to sign up for afterschool all three sessions: fall, winter & spring on Tuesdays AND Thursdays. Fall (Oct. 20 - Dec. 17) Winter (Jan. 12-Feb. 18) & Spring (March 2-March 18) Performances will be on March 16 and 18. Note: ALC sessions are shorter this year so it works out to be the same 17 week commitment as last year.
- Performances will be on Tuesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 18 @ Keewaydin.
- State Theater performance is March 26 during the school day. Parents & families are invited to all performances. Space is limited.
This is an ALC and Community Education class taught by MPS licensed teachers and Community Education Instructors.
Note: Minneapolis Community Education has adjusted our pricing model for after school programs to maintain high quality programming while also responding to greater financial constraints. You will see the following pricing options when registering:
- Class Fee: This rate reflects the true cost of providing the program.
- Class Fee + Scholarship Fund: Families who are able to contribute more can select a rate above the class fee. The additional amount helps support our scholarship fund and provides access to reduced rates for other families.
Minneapolis Community Education is committed to making our classes accessible to all families. If you need a full or partial scholarship or would like to set up a payment plan, please contact Lizzie (Lizzie.Sanchez@mpls.k12.mn.us), Program Coordinator, to discuss available options. We’re happy to work with you to find an option that meets your needs!
