GEMS/GISE Gr. 4-5 Robotics and FIRST LEGO League BIOGLOW™ Challenge (Tu & Th)

GEMS/GISE provides positive early experiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). For this class, students will engage in building and coding by working in pairs with LEGO robotic systems ultimately creating their own robot prototypes.  Students will also harness creativity and technology to explore biodiversity, ecosystems, and natural habitat protection, using nature as inspiration for their STEM innovations. 

**This class is in an Extended Learning class after school must have a Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) that will need to be signed by a Parent/Guardian and returned. Your child's after school teacher will send this form home with your child the first week of class.

This class begins on October 19th and ends on January 13th.

**The deadline to request after school bussing beginning the first day was September 13th. Registering after that day will result in a delay in a bus stop being availalble. You will be notified when a stop is available.

GEMS/GISE ofrece experiencias iniciales positivas en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM). En esta clase, los estudiantes realizarán actividades de construcción y programación trabajando en parejas con sistemas robóticos LEGO, para finalmente crear sus propios prototipos de robots. Asimismo, aprovecharán la creatividad y la tecnología para explorar la biodiversidad, los ecosistemas y la protección de hábitats naturales, utilizando la naturaleza como fuente de inspiración para sus innovaciones STEM.

**Al tratarse de una clase de aprendizaje extendido después del horario escolar, es necesario contar con un Plan de Aprendizaje Continuo (CLP) firmado por un padre o tutor legal y entregarlo. El maestro de la actividad extraescolar enviará este formulario a casa con su hijo durante la primera semana de clases.

**La fecha límite para solicitar el servicio de autobús escolar después de clases, a partir del primer día, fue el 13 de septiembre. Registrarse después de esa fecha resultará en una demora en la disponibilidad de una parada de autobús. Se le notificará cuando haya una parada disponible.
