Weaving: Garland or Ribbon on an Inkle Loom at Weavers Guild of Minnesota

Band weaving has been practiced for centuries across cultures to create straps, trims, belts, and decorative bands. In this class, we’ll explore band weaving on an inkle loom, creating a ribbon and/or garlands for the holiday season. Through guided instruction, you’ll learn to warp and weave on an inkle loom, understand how pattern is created, and practice finishing techniques.

This class uses some hand strength (tensioning yarns) and is adaptable to varying levels of dexterity. All experience and skill levels are welcome.
