Weaving: Yarn Travels: World Wide Wool at Weavers Guild of Minnesota
Dive into the world of traditional wool and discover the beauty, diversity, and unique qualities of heritage sheep breeds! Students will gain an appreciation for the tactile richness of heritage wools. The class will also discuss breed conservation, sustainable sourcing, and how these traditional fibers connect us to regional histories and landscapes.
You can choose to weave, knit, crochet, or needlefelt with wool fiber or yarn. Bring your favorite knitting or felting needles, crochet hooks, portable loom, or borrow tools from the Guild. Small looms will be available for students with no prior fiber art experience to weave samples.
This class is adaptable to varying levels of dexterity. All experience and skill levels are welcome.
