Mississippi River Gorge Fall Colors Hike w/ Sierra Club
Enjoy a fall morning with a hike on the Winchell Trail that traces the edge of the Mississippi River gorge. From the trail, we look out across the river to the opposite slope, and hopefully enjoy the fall colors as the sun shines through from the east. Eagles and other birds and wildlife might be seen from this trail just steps away from a busy urban neighborhood. Walk will cross under the railroad bridge and go to the 'white sands beach'. Walking will be on dirt trails with one hill and some steps.
Total distance is about 2 miles
Meet on the West River Parkway at the intersection of W. River Parkway and E. 24th Street.
