John Hanson, owner and maker of Longfellow Soap Company Longfellow Stained Glass Company
I have lived in the Seward and Longfellow neighborhoods for many years after moving to Minneapolis to attend Augsburg College. My work career included 32 years in retail and another 14 in woodworking and custom carpentry. My soap making began in 2010 as a class that I purchased for a fundraising event for the Friends Quaker School in St. Paul. After retiring in 2014 I started a wholesale soap company, Longfellow Soap Company. I have made and sold over 100,000 bars of soap. I have been teaching soap making for eleven years and have taught over 400 students in that time. I also teach Copper Foil Stained Glass classes, I have 25 years of experience in design and restoration.
