Drawing 1 (Roosevelt)

This course is designed for beginners and will focus on several elements of art, such as line, shape, value and contrast. The instructor will help you learn how to draw what you see, by expanding your knowledge of proportion and value comparison. Students will learn how to transform simple lines and shapes into works of art with the use of shading to add contrast and dimension. Bring your own supplies, supply list sent after registration.

Instructor

Rachel Quast (she/her) is a Minneapolis based interdisciplinary artist working in design, illustration, and experimental animation. Her work can be found in national publications, television commercials, tour merchandise, apparel and more. She has a BA in Art and a BA in Advertising from the University of MN, and she’s worked as a commercial illustrator and designer for over a decade. You’ll typically find her reading at her favorite coffee shop or getting dirty in her garden.
