Gym Games with Active Solutions (Grades 2-5)

Mr. Doherty will be teaching our Gym Games with Active Solutions class once again! Your student is invited to experience more movement, fun, and team building activities during each session in this fun after-school class. Activities include lifelong sports, recreation and fitness: most all individual and team sports, track and field, kickball, tag games, floor hockey, volleyball, soccer, and many others. The class will take place in the Keewaydin gymnasium. Math, reading, health, nutrition and wellness is incorporated into the class lessons. Lessons are designed to keep students engaged in learning activities and to keep their heart rates elevated. Character building, cooperative skills, individual success and safety are all emphasized.

Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When families participate at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable. Extended Learning (ALC) classes are free.
