Beginner Old Time Clawhammer Banjo (Roosevelt)

Clawhammer banjo is a big part of Old Time music, and is great fun to play. If you are a beginner at clawhammer banjo, Old Time music, or both, you are welcome to this class and we'll start from zero. We will cover some music theory to help you get started, and touch on the basics of how jams work. The playing techniques are applicable to any kind of music, but we will focus on tunes that get played at jams. Everything will be taught entirely by ear, with no written music. All you need to bring is a functioning five string banjo (check that you can get it in tune), a capo, and a tuner.
