Academics: Create Your Own Country (Entering Grades 5-8)

Study the geography, climate, culture, government and economy of countries around the world to design your own. Is it a warm country on the coast full of tourism like Greece? Or maybe it's a smaller country with a growing technology industry like Ireland! Does it have a president, a parliament or both? Once you’ve made your country, work together to make international connections and solve world problems!

To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as a discounted option and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, most class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. As always, we will continue to offer additional financial assistance upon request. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining. Thank you for your consideration as you sign up for summer programs!
